Catia is a European certified Orthoptist, member of IOA with 15 years of experience. She graduated and received her BSc in Orthoptics from the Lisbon School of Health Technology, in Portugal. Catia was Head of the Orthoptic department in a Governamental Hospital in Portugal, she also worked in private practice in Portugal and for the last 5 she has been working in the UAE.

Catia is a European certified Orthoptist, member of IOA (International Orthoptics Association) with 15 years of experience. She graduated and received her BSc in Orthoptics from the Lisbon School of Health Technology, in Lisbon, Portugal. Catia was Head of the Orthoptic department in a Governamental Hospital in Portugal for 7 years until she moved to Dubai in 2017. She also worked in private practice in Portugal. For the last 5 she has been working in the UAE, located in Dubai.

Catia was the Head Orthoptist in Hospital de Cascais, building a new department and developing a team made her develop management and organizational skills. Alongside leading the team Catia developed her skills and investigation projects in the diagnosis, monitoring and management of adult and paediatric cases of binocular vision anomalies. She also has experience on ocular motility disorders, strabismus, amblyopia, nystagmus, congenital and developmental ocular abnormalities.

With 5 years of practice within the gulf region, Catia has worked with children, adults, people with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and behavioural disorders, not only doing Orthoptics but also doing low vision assessments and rehabilitations.
